Hey ladies, what’s the scariest thing you can think of? If you’re me, it’s getting pregnant. But, what’s the even more scariest thing you can think of? If you remain me, it’s getting pregnant even though you (I? We? Are we one now? Conjoined by fear?) deliberately took precautions so as to not get pregnant. SO FYI, if you had a prescription filled for the birth control pill Alysena 28 day, CHECK THE LOT NUMBER.

The manufacturer of Alysena, Apotex, has issued a drug recall because one package from Lot number LF 01899A has some placebo problems. There are MORE placebo pills in a pack than there should be. That means less actual birth control and more “Hey, I’m a pill made of sugar and just a helpful reminder to take the other pills once a day! I can’t help you not get pregnant! Sugar doesn’t stop babies! Babies love sugar! Watch out potential sugar Momma!” (Why is you’re maybe-baby so weird, guys?)

So unless you want a surprise sugar baby (and hey, maybe you do! I’m not here to judge!) I suggest calling your pharmacist or clinic to check up on your pills and feel a lot less scared!
