This week’s second artist profile is on Georgia Dickie, an emerging sculpture/installation artist and self-professed bacon lover. Georgia lives and works in Toronto. Come see her work this weekend at Bitch Slap, located in the Thrush Holmes Empire, 1093 Queen Street West.

What does the term BITCH SLAP mean to you?
“Bitch Slap”? I thought the show was called “Bath Clips.”

What art will you be showcasing at the show?
A sculpture called, “Bbq Track (Hog de Bobby)”, which I named after a close friend. He is the captain of a ship.

What interests you most in life?
Bacon.

What oddities do you cherish?
My Dad.

Do you remember a perfect day? What did it look like?
Yes, last Thursday. It looked pretty grim at the start, but ended with some surprises.

What do you love most about being a woman?
I had completely forgotten I was one.

If you were a song on our stereo, what would be playing?
“Wagon Wheel” by Old Crow Medicine Show.

BITCH SLAP WILL BE like…a long pair of tongs pinching at your ear.
