Starting today, Bloor Hot Docs Cinema is screening Crazy About Tiffany’s, a star-studded documentary chronicling the history and legacy of Tiffany and Co.

It’s one of America’s most iconic brands: a signature blue box with a white ribbon, a signal of luxury and elegance. But did you know that Tiffany’s also designed the interlocking NY for the New York Yankees? Or that the company practically invented the engagement ring as we know it today?

From director Matthew Miele, Crazy About Tiffany’s shows how one New York jeweller has touched everything from the Super Bowl trophy to the American dollar bill. Whether it’s focusing on the collaborative work of creating a new collection with design director Francesca Amfitheatrof, showcasing Tiffany’s in popular culture from Friends to Breakfast at Tiffany’s, interviewing celebrities including Jessica Biel and Baz Luhrmann, or documenting how a master craftsmen handmade the classic Schlumberger design—Crazy About Tiffany’s captures the true impact of this legendary brand.
