CAREER TIPS
Volunteer your services as much as possible in the beginning. Even if you aren't getting paid, you will have portfolio pieces and potential employers will see how determined you are.
If you wake up and dread going in to work, you need to quit and find something else. You should enjoy what you do and get excited about it.
Don't fall into the "comfort slacker zone". After being a job for a while, you learn the minimal amount of effort you can put into a project and get away with it. You need to keep your skills sharp and feel proud about what you put forth, even if no one else appreciates the amount of effort you are putting in.
Find ways of integrating other skills that you enjoy into your job, you will enjoy it more!
Men dominate many of the creative fields; if you have come this far you should be proud of yourself! I am the only female designer at the company I work for and I bring unique and valuable perspectives and style.
