About Women’s Habitat
For the past twenty-nine years, Women’s Habitat has been providing emergency shelter, support, advocacy and counseling to thousands of women and their children fleeing violence.
We operate a 25-bed emergency shelter where women and children receive food, support, counselling and referrals to other community services, such as legal aid, subsidized childcare, subsidized housing, welfare, translation/interpretive services, employment counselling, and assistance with immigration/refugee claims.
Our outreach program offers crisis counselling as well as brief individual counselling for women and children, small group work for women and girls, drop-in services, transitional support, housing support, advocacy and much more for women in the south Etobicoke community.

Give Back to the Environment

Second Harvest is a charity which picks up fresh donated food, which would have gone to waste, and delivers that food to social service agencies in the Greater Toronto Area. Every day, our drivers deliver enough food for about 13,000 meals, to recipients including children in breakfast and after-school programs, women running from violence, homeless individuals, seniors struggling on fixed incomes, working class families, and thousands more who need help in our community.
