On October 16th, chef Michael Stadtlander will be joined by 70 colleagues in a massive outdoor cook-off to stop the mega quarry (if built, this project will turn farmland into the second-largest open pit mine in North America). Foodstock, an event to help save the land that feeds us, will take place rain or shine in Honeywood, Ontario. They’re recommending you do your best Gwyneth-at-Glastonbury and rock some rain boots, while you stroll around sampling amazing goodies. BYO Plate, fork and knife, and a minimum contribution of $10 per person is suggested if you can swing it. Remember, it’s for a great cause.
