Festival International du Film Pour Enfants de Montreal

Chaperone your favorite tot (or indulge the kid in you) to the Montreal festival of international children’s film. Most of the offerings are en francais, but a few are being shown in English. Check http://www.fifem.com/ for all listings.

Thursday at 5pm, catch the outdoor screening of Icelandic feature film Duggholufolkid (Pas de Signal, the French version will be shown), last year’s winner of the FIFEM Grand Jury Prize. Free hot chocolate and coffee will be on offer to all cinephiles, but you must bring your own chair. Parc Molson, corner Beaubien and Iberville.

Whatup Gangstars! @ SAT

Handily winning the title of most embarrassing event name ever, this Friday Whatup Gangstars! will host the first in a series of nights at the SAT. Featured DJs include Atlanta’s DJ Klever and Paris’s Arthur King, making his Canadian debut. Locals Shadakiss and A-Rock will warm up the crowd and couple of “mystery guests” will be in attendance. Visuals will be provided by 123Klan.

82nd Academy Awards Live @ Cinema du Parc

Boo Avatar, cheer for your favorites, and complain about overlooked entries (Bride Wars was robbed!) this Sunday at the biggest Oscar party in Montreal. The 82nd Academy Awards will be shown live on the big screen at Cinema du Parc. Door prizes galore. The event is free, but arrive early (before 6:45pm) to snag a spot.
