Love talking about periods? Who DOESN’T. Well, Menstravaganza at the Revue wants to talk to you about ’em, show you films about ’em, and spread information about ’em.

Head to the Revue Cinema (400 Roncesvalles Ave) on Thursday, May 29th to check out Crankyfest’s winning shorts as well as documentary feature Menstrual Man, the true story of rural inventor/dream husband who started India’s sanitary pad revolution (Ahhh yes. You read about him. You remember now. Your aunt sent you a link). Top the night off with a panel discussino about periods in the media and you have a menses-themed evening for the ages.

The night is being put on by a veritable bevy of period-friendly people: Your Box Club (purveyors of home-delivered organic tampons), Period Makeover (a period-positive educational blog), Crankyfest (an online film festival for movies about menstruation) and Femme International, a charity that provides sustainable menstruation management supplies and feminine health education to women and girls in Nairobi.

Thursday, May 29th is also the first ever global Menstrual Hygiene Day. Tickets are $10 and all proceeds benefit Femme International’s work for women and girls in Nairobi.
