8pm. The Keys Album Release @ Le Divan Orange, 4234 St-Laurent. French import – as in, from France – The Keys (aka Boris Paillard) will release his seventh LP ‘Long Time No Sea’ this week at Le Divan Orange. Fabulously, he will be joined by one of our favourite Haligonians – Ben Caplan & The Casual Smokers, as well as Raleigh and Landon Coleman.

YES Art Expo @ Marché Bonsecours, De la Commune Hall, 350 St-Paul Street East. This unique two-day showcase of over 60 young, emerging Quebec artists will feature entertainment, exhibitions, artistic presentations and more! Visual arts, jewellery-making, photography, dance, sculpture, music and fashion will all be represented – well worth a visit for all aspiring local artists! Details here. FRIDAY DECEMBER 2

9pm. Il Motore’s Three-Year Anniversary with URockaoke @ Il Motore, 179 Jean-Talon West. Our little Il Motore is turning three: awwwww! To celebrate, join them for a Black Tie Affair, drink specials, prizes and of course, URockoake (live band karaoke = stressful, have a few drinks first). Pay-What-You-Can, suggested donation of $10.

SATURDAY DECEMBER 3

8pm. Timber Timbre + Agnes Obel @ Église St Jean Baptiste, 309 Rachel East. Canadian folk group and Montreal regulars Timber Timbre will be joined by Agnes Obel (have you heard of her? She is amazing. She is Danish. Listen to this). A great, low-key way to ring in the first weekend of December! $20.

Winter Fair of the Artisan Elves @ St Michael’s Church, 105 St-Viateur West. Over 110 of Montreal’s craftiest artisans will be on hand for your holiday shopping pleasure, at this Old Skool Crafts Winter Fair. Visitors can expect a wide variety of original jewellery, photography, woodwork pieces, pottery, baked goods, as well as a variety of craft workshops. Canned food and gently used clothing donations are welcome! Free entry.
