Little Lab presents the first Montreal session of “Rhymes of an Hour,” a series of musical nights held regularly in atypical places across the city. First up is a show in Mile End vintage shop Citizen Vintage, the perfect backdrop for a night of music, art and fashion. Featuring performances by: David Simard, The Loodies and Maison Brume. 8pm. Joel Plaskett Emergency @ Theatre Corona, 2490 Notre-Dame Ouest. Nova Scotia indie act Joel Plaskett Emergency play Corona in support of their new album, “Scrappy Happiness,” released in March 2012. With special guest, UK singer-songwriter Frank Turner. Tickets $23, available here.

8pm. Little Scream + Akua @ Casa del Popolo, 4873 St Laurent. Local act Little Scream (composed of Arcade Fire’s Richard Parry, as well as Laurel Sprengelmeyer and Marcus Paquin, among others) joins Akua for a show at Casa. Tickets $11, available here.
9pm. Saxsyndrum Album Launch + Technical Kidman + BZARYN + Prime Cuts @ Jackie & Judy | Rococo Bar Spectacle, 6512, avenue du Parc. Montreal blog Midnight Poutine’s second music showcase, featuring performances from: psychedelic dance rock duo Saxsyndrum, celebrating the release of their second album, “Flying Fortress,” along with Technical Kidman, BZARYN and Prime Cuts. $10.
