Journées de la culture @ Various Locales
The 15th annual Journées de la culture hits Montreal for 3 days of visual art, music, cinema, theatre, arts & crafts and more. Featuring over 2000 free events, including:
–Tour Cirque de Soleil Headquarters: This is where the magic happens. See performers train, watch costume and set creation, and other behind-the-scenes moments of the world’s favourite circus troop. Tours offered on Friday, from 9am-11:30am, and 1pm-3:30pm. Reservation required: visit.
–Open house at Atelier 140. Check out visual art by Brie Neilson, Dustyn Lucas and Jenny Schade. Atelier 140 (@ The Grover Building, 2065 Parthenais) will be open Friday, 1:00pm-7:00pm; Saturday, 1pm-8pm; Sunday, 1pm-5:30pm.
–Enchanted. Watch Montreal artist April-Anna in action, demonstrating in 4 mediums: canvas, masks, sculpture & body (with potential audience member body painting). @ Burritoville, 2055 rue Bishop from 2pm – 10pm, Saturday and Sunday.

9pm. Yamantaka//Sonic Titan Record Launch @ Eastern Bloc, 7240, rue Clark. Toronto multimedia collective Yamantaka//Sonic Titan launch their self-titled debut record. With D’eon, Panopticon Eyelids, the Outdoorsmen, and Ledges, Blast. $10.
10pm. Jesse Rose + Rilly Guilty + Tronald Trump @ Le Belmont, 4483 St Laurent. A double dose of Rilly Guilty, alongside acclaimed UK producer/DJ Jesse Rose and Montreal’s Tronald Trump. Hosted by Neon and High Food. Tickets $15 presale, $20 at the door. Till 3am.
