Harboufront’s World Stage programming has been wowing audiences this season, and they’re not stopping now. Next up? The World Premiere of a contemporary performance piece by Evan Webber and Frank Cox-O’Connell. Ajax & Little Iliad aims to recreate the theatre of war for civilians. Inspired by military rehabilitation programs, this piece is performed to small audiences of thirty members, each wearing headphones. The Irish Theatre Magazine calls the piece “A profound and poignant synthesis of art and war.” It aims to challenge not only our understanding of war, but our experience of the theatre itself. For more on the importance of the work, read a post by World Stage Artistic Director Tina Rasmussen on the World Stage blog.
