Hello Hal, do you read me Hal? Fans of Stanley Kubrick’s 1968 classic sci-fi film 2001: A Space Odyssey were smitten to be at a near-sold-out theme party for the classic sci-fi flick. Young Offenders Collective and Young Lions Music Club presented intergalactic art installations and live musical performances from the likes of LCD Soundsystem’s Pat Mahoney and Paradise Animals inside a transformed 99 Sudbury. Bad ass female string band Dévah Quartet played renditions of the movie’s theme song, and members of Unit 102 Theatre posed for selfies dressed in ape costumes. The event was in celebration of TIFF’s Stanley Kubrick exhibition, which runs from October 31 – January 25. Click any image to view as a gallery.
