Well, this is the cutest summer thing we’ve heard of so far. Fairmount Park Farmers Market is hosting Preserving in the Park workshops with Christine Manning of Manning Canning to teach regular Joes and Joannas like ourselves the fine art of jam-making, jar-sterilization, canning and preserving. TONIGHT at 5pm they’re making Strawberry Balsamic Jam, which sounds like heaven and is just screeeaaaaaming to be served with some chevre.

Can’t make this one? NOT TO WORRY. You can learn to make pickled hot peppers on September 10th, or apple pie in a jar on October 8! JAMS! CANS! Let’s DO THIS!!

Fairmount Park is located at 1725 Gerrard St. East. Registration is $40.00 per person, and includes jars and ingredients. Participants are asked to please bring a cutting board and a knife (badass).
