Ewan MacGregor knows it, we know it, and you should too: The Tweed Ride is tops. A dapper event for an excellent cause, Tweed Rides occur in cities around the world, and this September 22nd, the Toronto Tweed Ride will raise money for Bikes Without Borders, a Canadian non-profit that uses bikes as tools for development in marginalized communities.
Cyclists don tweed and other old-timey clothes and take a leisurely ride around the city’s landmarks, (how civilized), break for high tea (HOW CIVILIZED), and end the day with dinner and a huge party. According to the organizers, all bikes are welcome, but Penny Farthings are preferred.
Tickets are between $10-25, and include access to all the events. Early bird pricing is in effect until August 1st. To register: tweedridetoronto.com/ Riders are also encouraged to do their own fundraising, and can earn great prizes!
See you there!
