Taking place on February 7, Resisting Erasure is the first session of the Studio for Media Activism & Critical Thought 2017 Winter Speaker Series: “Mapping Media Activism: Collectives & Collaborations.”

Watch as local activists and artists speak out about their perspectives on creative resistance against black erasure and anti-black violence, collective activism, media, art and race. Speakers at this session will include Syrus Marcus Ware, Hibaq Gelle, Hawa Y. Mire, Bushra Junaid, and Pamela Edmonds.

The series will continue through the semester with Mapping Safe Crip Spaces, a workshop with artist/activist Maayan Ziv (happening March 7), and Inuit Women’s Voices: Arnait Video Collective Film Screening & Talk (happening April 11).

Resisting Erasure: Raising Voices Against Right-Wing Nationalism takes place Tuesday February 7 from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Eaton Lecture Hall, Room RCC204, 80 Gould Street. This event is FREE and wheelchair accessible. Educator and activist, Deanna Bowen will be moderating the panel.
