While we have you here, we want to take the opportunity to dispel some couponing myths, as this is something that we’ve become pretty passionate about!

Myth 1: Couponing takes too much time

This may have been true in the good ol’ days, but things are different now, grandma. Forget colour-coded binders and Sunday flyers, all you need is a smartphone and about 15 seconds of your time to save some pretty substantial cash money.

Myth 2: You can’t get a coupon on a premium item that you actually want

It’s not all about discount toilet paper and toothpaste anymore! High end retailers have joined in on the fun, with brands we love like Club Monaco and Kate Spade offering promo codes. A whole new world…a new fantastic point of view… (OKAY, we’ll stop.)

Myth 3: You’ll buy things with coupons that you wouldn’t otherwise purchase

This one is easy, guys – only buy items with coupons that you feel are worth the full retail value. For example, if you’re stocking up on craft supplies for the holidays (we SO want to make a DIY feathered wreath this year), head over to Michael’s and start shopping. Then, when you’re done, do a quick scan for a promo code to find those extra savings. Ta-da!
