This year marks the 15th anniversary of Scotiabank’s annual Buskerfest, held on Yonge Street from August 21 to the 24. This year’s event supports Epilepsy Toronto.

Buskerfest is a fantastic place to spend an afternoon, enjoy the sun, grab some free swag, eat some cool things, and enjoy downtown Toronto in it’s prime. New this year: the Epilepsy Toronto Benefit Stage. In addition to performances on the main stage in Dundas Square, there will be performers on the side stages, in “circle shows,” as well as in “roamer” form. Amongst others, you can hope to see jugglers, clowns, acrobats, and fire eaters roaming the area.

Other things to look out for:

  • Contests. Tons of local and large-scale companies set up camp for this weekend. Expect a contest or two.
  • Free Stuff: Last year, Post-it had a booth and were giving out packs of sticky notes. Tell me you can’t find a use for those and I’ll tell you you’re not human. Also, stickers. Like, cool ones.
  • Food! If last year’s festival is any indication, there will be oodles and oodles of food trucks, company vendors, and yummy treats to choose from.

They’re accepting applications to volunteer, so apply here. Deadline to apply for your free t-shirt and even free-er weekend festival is June 14.

We live in a lively city and this is a great cause. Check it out!
