Sitting in the SWAN you will most definitely feel like you are surrounded by famous writers, Canadian actors, clothing designers and playwrights, and you might likely be – or not. Either way, it’s fun to play the ‘ARE THEY FAMOUS” guessing game; a game reserved for the reserved Canadian celebrity culture. You can blend in and look famous too.
Traditional banquets on the left, retro bar stools on the right, dim lights, dark wood stained decor; the Swan layout feels like you are on a night train to the 1960’s, except for during bustling brunch and lunch time. It’s got a romanticism that echoes, ‘anything is possible here.’ If Don Draper from Mad Men was to choose a place to meet up with a secret lover for a terrific meal; he’d prop his hat on the stand, grab a dark booth and have picked the perfect spot. The SWAN offers traditional comfort food with class.
Brunch novelties include Hangtown Fry – eggs combined with smoked oysters, and eggs benny with smoked trout.
Smoked arctic char salad, beef carpacio, grilled chops and seared duck are dinnertime staples.
