If you know Homer’s middle name, who shot Mr. Burns and the reason behind Marge’s fear of flying, this is the event for you. Tonight’s This is Not a Reading Series event at the Gladstone Hotel (1214 Queen St W) is a chat with John Ortved, author of The Simpsons: An Uncensored, Unauthorized History, and Richard Crouse, film critic and TV personality. Ortved’s book takes a look at the pop culture phenomenon that is The Simpsons, and why it’s the most enduring and culturally influential show on TV. This is going to be better than an evening with Brad Goodman and a (shudder) “Klassic Krusty” marathon rolled into one.

The talk starts at 7:30pm tonight in the Gladstone ballroom, and admission is $5.
