On Saturday, April 28th, help Humewood House celebrate their 100th anniversary. Humewood House provides support for young, pregnant and parenting women through a variety of programs. They offer a safe home to 50 women and their babies, quality child care, individual counselling, high school programming for young mothers, young parent resource programs, scholarships, and food banks.

To celebrate the incredible impact Humewood House has had on so many women and children over the past century, they will be hosting a week of events. Walking tours, led by storytellers who will share their memories of growing up at Humewood House, will take place on Saturday, April 28th and Saturday May 5th. The tours will begin at Wychwood Barns (601 Christie St.) at 11 am and 2 pm, and make their way to the house. When they arrive, guests will find a display of artifacts, photos, and historical storyboards displaying Humewood’s development over the years.

Later in the evening, they will be throwing a celebration gala, the Centennial Celebration. The night will feature a dance performance by Coleman Lemieux & Compagnie, hors d’oeuvres and food stations (including PEI Lobster Grilled Cheese as well as great vegetarian items), sweet treats, a wine tasting, a silent auction, and more. It will take place at Artscape Wychwood Barns, in Barn 2, from 7 pm to 11 pm. Tickets are $100 and can be purchased here.
