Twitter + meeting = a ‘Tweeting’, a in in-person meeting of the online social network. This is the 3rd Twestival which is a global event happening simultaneously in over 200 cities. It is promoted and organized through Twitter, hence the silly name. There is a new cause each time and this year’s is @Concern - http://www.concernworldwide.org/. All funds from ticket sales go directly through the Twestival system for the cause so sponsor donations and dollars go a long way to ensure this is a well-attended and successful fundraiser. The very first Twestival last February raised more than $250,000 worldwide. Vancouver’s contribution has been close to $10,000 over the last year. Time to ‘follow’ and be ‘followed’ for real.
