Open mic nights have a bad rap. (PUN!) Luckily, Leah P is here to change that with her Degrassi-inspired wordplay. She’s created an open mic night where you can enjoy and share talent and tallboys, and even participate in a sing-along or several.

Her monthly jam happens at the Fountain (1261 Dundas St. W.) and every instalment features a different play on the word microphone, and an array of talent from newbies to regulars who will charm the crowd with their skillbilities. If you’re a closet performer, GET UP THERE! WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO LOSE? Grab a microphone and make me feel jealous that even my boyfriend makes fun of me when I try to sing and/or rap. (Ignore my cut eye, it’s just my face.)

If you’re not already convinced, three singers promise to cover this. Leah also promises to sing Rod Stewart. Unmissable.
