Design lovers have a big weekend ahead of them with all the design festivities going on in Toronto. As part of the inaugural Toronto International Design Festival (sponsored by the Interior Design Show) the folks at the historic Gladstone Hotel (1214 Queen St. West) have a little somethin’ somethin’ to add to the design smattering.  

Come Up To My Room, the alternative design event in its seventh year, “invites artists and designers to show us what goes on inside their heads.” The curators select designers based on what they’ve done so far, and then assign each of them to one of the 11 rooms or 14 public spaces on the second floor of the hotel. The curators aren’t allowed set foot inside the exhibits until the show starts, giving the designers the freedom to go as crazy or as minimalist as their creative little hearts desire.  

Aside from the exhibits, CUTMR offers design talks and a late night Love Design party. Here’s the full schedule:
