Kinfolk, the achingly beautiful “guide to small gatherings,” comes to life with a series of workshops in various cities around the world. They partner with local business owners and create unique culinary happenings. The June workshop is a Butcher Block Party, and will educate guests about purchasing meat and fish in an ethical, sustainable way.

In Montreal, the Butcher Block will take on a Japanese-inspired twist, and guests will learn the traditional methods of cleaning fish. The workshop will also teach you how to choose fish at your local market, and prepare and preserve it at home. The evening will capture the spirit of Kinfolk’s latest issue, “a glimpse of Japan through the Kinfolk lens.”

Tickets to the event, which takes place June 24th at Cafe Falco, are $90. You can purchase them here.
