Launch of the 2011 Firefighter Calendar @ Club Soda
The Fondation des Pompiers is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year with a special edition of the Annual Firefighters Calendar. Club Soda will be hosting a gala and fashion show (drool) to mark the launch of the 2011 issue.

Friday November 5
Frontier: Vernissage, Live Music & Dance Party
A photography project by Neal Rockwell, Frontier documents his travels around Mexico, with a special focus on issues surrounding migration and social justice. Rockwell’s work will be showcased at Galerie Rye in collaboration with the Immigrant Workers’ Centre – best of all, the event includes a multi-DJ’d dance party!

Au Coeur de la Mode @ Palais des Congrès
Since 1992, the Farha Foundation has been hosting Quebec’s largest AIDS Fashion Charity event each year: Au Coeur de la Mode . Over 30 designer labels are represented at the giant sample sale event, offering upwards of 50% off their recent lines. Lucky 7, Rudsak, Sixty Nine Jeans and more are expected at this year’s event.

Saturday November 6
Bonobo @ Le National
Wear comfortable shoes – British-based DJ, Bonobo shall have us dancing into the wee hours at Le National this weekend – his fourth and most recent album, Black Sands, packs some serious punch. Bonobo will be joined by Thunderball and DJ Brace.

MadM @ Caberet JPR
One of our favourite Montreal rock girls, Melissa Auf Der Maur returns home this weekend for a special show at Cabaret Juste Pour Rire, in promotion of her second solo album. For those who missed the memo, MadM spent her early years touring as the bassist with Hole, followed by the Smashing Pumpkins. No big deal.

Sunday November 7
Wintervention @ Theatre Maisonneuve
Getting antsy for some quality shred time? For all the ski and snowboard bums getting eager to hit the slopes this season, check out Warren Miller’s Wintervention, a ‘cool’ adventure-ski film now touring North America. Ski and snowboard professionals tackle untouched terrain in Norway, Antarctica and beyond, making Mont-Tremblant look like a series of ant hills.
