An impeccably styled Toronto couple have poured their blood, sweat and tears into a new online venture. TheAutomat.ca is a vintage store with everything from clothing to home decor, based on the concept of Automats,  the original self-serve restaurants in the United States, The Netherlands and Japan. TheAutomat.ca invites you to self-serve your way to a fabulous wardrobe.

As die hard vintage collectors know, most cuts and fabrics just don’t accommodate us the same way now as they did when they were originally in fashion. TheAutomat.ca provides clear instructions on how to take measurements if you have any online-shopping anxieties, making it easy to find something that fits like a dream.

So, what can you expect to find? Beautiful dresses. Authentic loungewear,  which TheAutomat.ca takes very seriously, goes well with a stiff cocktail and an old movie after a long day. Pardon me while I slip into something a little more…fabulous.  Thanks to some serious seamstress skills, an old dowdy wedding gown becomes a ladylike summer maxi dress with delicate short sleeves made of lace. And for more rockabilly tastes check out one-of-a-kind tote bags from Detroit label Dimestore Floozy!, made with love in the USA by artist, musician, bad-ass chick and possibly personal friend of Jack White, Miss Eleneous. A lady never tells.

Like their Facebook page to see who their weekly cover girl photoshoots and you’re already one step closer to a more fabulous life!
