Photographer Tim Hetherington left behind a remarkable legacy of work when he was tragically killed in Libya earlier this month. His expressions of social and political issues took many forms, and his debut directorial effort, Restrepo, won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance in 2010. The documentary follows a platoon of soldiers in Afghanistan, and in honour of this remarkable artist, his co-director will be on hand to present a special screening of the film on Saturday, May 7th. In conjunction with Hot Docs, National Geographic Films, and realscreen magazine, Sebastian Junger will lead a Q & A paying tribute to his friend and collaborator. Proceeds from the screening will be donated to a charitable organization chosen by the Hetherington family.

The screening will be held at 3 pm at the TIFF Bell Lightbox. Because this is a special charitable event, passes will not be accepted. Tickets are $20 and available at hotdocs.ca, or by telephone:  416-637-5150
