We’re done sugar-coating fall. The novelty of crunchy leaves and pumpkin spice lattes has worn off and we’re left in the dark (sunsets at 6pm, what is this crap?) bundled up in oversized sweaters to fight off the chill. TIME FOR A VACATION!

This year, we’ve got our sights set on The Bahamas, specifically, Eleuthera and Harbour Island. For one thing, we’ve never been. For another, it sounds like heaven on earth, complete with pink beaches, gorgeous 5 star resorts and ALL THE SUN. The larger of the two islands, Eleuthera, is bustling with culture. One event we’re dying to check out is the Friday Fish Fry downtown at Anchor Bay which serves up delish street food and live music every Friday night. If you’re looking for a more tranquil retreat, Harbour Island may be a better fit; it’s more intimate and much smaller – you can get around the entire island by golf cart!

When in Eleuthera & Harbour Island, a day trip to Pink Sands Beach is a must. Considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, it’s romantic, secluded, and completely surreal. Can you imagine dipping your toes into coral-tinted sand or watching the sun set over a fiery pink horizon? Breathtaking.

Don’t forget the pineapples! Known as one of the pineapple capitals of the world, Eleuthera & Harbour Island is covered in pineapple plantations, which go all the way back to the the mid 18th century. There’s even an annual Pineapple Festival in June in Gregory Town. We highly suggest making the trip so you can take in the charming New England architecture, influenced by Loyalist settlers in the 1700’s.

The best part?Getting there is a breeze with non-stop flights to Nassau, Grand Bahama Island and Exuma. If you’re in Toronto, you can get to paradise in 3 hours! Also, same-day connections are available to many islands of The Bahamas.
