This Sunday it’s time to spend some quality time with dad.  I’m sure he’ll be stoked no matter what you choose to do, but why not try something a little special this year?  Try one of the activities below and you’ll win daughter brownie points for years!

If your dad is the athletic type, take him out for a spin in the scenic BC waters.  There are tons of kayak rental places, including ones in Kits or the North Shore.  Grab your suntan lotion and get ready for a few hours of sightseeing and bonding!

Granville Island Brewery is a great place to do a quick tour and learn about the beer-making process.  Bring dad by and share a few of their most popular and specialty brews.  If he’s more of a Molson man, bring him by their brewery in Kits on Burrard.  You’ll see a much larger facility at work here.  Both breweries are by the water, so a nice patio and more beers with dad may be in order.

Rice Lake’s Family Fishing Day happens to fall on the same Sunday as Father’s Day this year.  There’s tackle for your use and you get to fish without a license.  Stay after for a little bbq salmon and a chance to win some swag.

Is your dad a history nerd? Take him to the Scandinavian Community Centre for the 16th annual Midsummer Festival.  There’s a life-size Viking village, traditional entertainment, and, of course, a beer garden.

The Vancouver Maritime Museum is packed to the brim with everything you need to imagine life at sea.  Exhibits on Vancouver’s harbour and arctic exploration will rouse you and your dad’s curiosity before you board the famous, giant St. Roch or check out the Ben Franklin submarine.
