What’s the deal?: dancap presents a powerful evening that takes the audience through over four hundred years of powerful divas… boogie woogie to blues, la boheme to rent (you know one is based on the other right?)

Three singers take the stage each night. But you may get the “A” cast, or you might get the “1” cast, from a total of 6 woman in the cast…. Of course, no diva can be a ‘2’ or a ‘B’…. better mix your metaphors, than risk insulting one of these lovely ladies. And it’s a good play, you wouldn’t want to lose any of these ladies from the stage. Their powerful voices are mesmerizing. And their playful attitude keeps the audience wrapped around their perfectly manicured fingers….

You’ll like this play if you like: to sing along to your stereo in the living room, while getting dressed or in the shower….

Indicative Quote: “This one goes out the biggest divas of the last little while… Aretha, the Supremes, The Shirelles, The Emotions, The Supremes… and Ms. Thing herself, the longest legs in showbiz…. Miss Tina Turner!!!

Highlight: The jump from a smooth as fresh-shaved legs in silk sheets opera to the boogie woogie Broadway jump of the 1940s… all with impeccable style.

What was the audience like: It ranged from 18 to 80…. But mainly woman… with a smattering of my gay boyfriends.. and some brave and loving boyfriends and hubbies for good measure.

Who you should bring: your girlfriends, your mom…. I brought my grandma…. Best choice I could make. She knew all the words and danced in the aisles with me during the encore…

Verdict: Two thumbs up! And one bootie shaking… and one girl singing in the mirror the second she got home.
