Listen up book-lovers: The Writers’ Trust of Canada Awards are coming up on Nov. 5th, and we are thrilled to announce that for the first time ever, the Hilary Weston Prize for Nonfiction finalists are all women

The top five contenders include Alicia Elliot for A Mind Spread Out on the Ground, Anna Mehler Paperny for Hello I Want to Die Please Fix Me: Depression in the First Person, Tanya Talaga for All Our Relations: Finding the Path Forward, Ayelet Tsabari for The Art of Leaving: A Memoir and Jenny Heijun Wills for Older Sister. Not Necessarily Related. The books span the gamut; from intergenerational trauma to the treatment of depression, from youth suicide to familial alienation to the struggle around identity.

We want to give you a beautiful prize pack consisting of all FIVE books mentioned above. The books are each thought-provoking, timely, nuanced and gripping; they’re the perfect excuse to hunker down with a hot drink and a great read.
