Come check out DELIMITED FASHION an exhibit of fourth year Ryerson Fashion Communications and Design students at the Elaine Fleck Gallery

Put together by Katelyn Veldman, one of the featured artists in the group show, DELIMITED showcases a colourful palette of works from oil paintings to mixed media and photography.

Veldman’s work deals with self-exploration as she skillfully fuses deconstructed photographs from her travels with gestural self-portraits in watercolours.

Another series that caught my eye is a set of shadow boxes with drawings of trendy girls and song lyrics suspended from the top by Laura Julien.  I would proudly display any one of her pieces on my bedroom wall.

Also of note, Mariel Gonzalez’s portraits, beautifully unfinished and so very intense, I couldn’t tear my eyes away.

Sasha Hamilton left me wanting more as she had only a single work displayed.  Mixed media on two wooden panels, her surrealistic diptych found me from a far and drew me close as I discovered layers upon layers of delicate brushwork and lovely paint drips.

It’s clear that there’s some MAJOR talent coming out of Ryerson. My advice to you – snatch up these babies while you can still afford them!

DELIMITED Runs until April 26
