Why we like: When panache and affordability unite, it often comes with a cost. Just like the rest of us, I can probably spend my entire paycheck at Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, American Apparel and/or H&M – but even with functional basics and cutting-edge party wear, you gotta make it your own! I’m afraid to admit that ‘the standard’ = party dress, black tights, ballet flats, dangling heart pendant and perhaps even a headband emulates the ‘Lauren Conrad wannabe’ uniform – a look that only works in The Hills.
