The Work of Fashion Designer Iris van Herpen Is Coming to the ROM

What do metal umbrella ribs, magnets and 3D printing have to do with haute couture? A lot if you’re Iris van Herpen. The Dutch fashion innovator is the designer of choice for icons like Beyoncé, Björk, Lady Gaga, and Cara Delevingne, and now you can see her creations up close. Known for fusing varied materials with inventive technologies, van Herpen is bringing her work to the ROM this June.

“Iris van Herpen has pushed the boundaries of fashion and craftsmanship with futuristic designs that combine tradition with radical innovation,” said Josh Basseches, the ROM’s Director and CEO. Iris van Herpen: Transforming Fashion showcases the evolution of van Herpen’s striking design with one-of-a-kind pieces from fifteen collections spanning 2008 to 2015.

Transforming Fashion opens on June 2nd. Get tickets here.
