Jucy, Directed by Louise Alston

Ghostworld meets Bridget Jones’s Diary, Jucy tells the tale of a Wo-mance (that’s the lady version of a bromance) between two 20something video store employees and amateur actresses. Julie is the manic depressive manager in love with the toast of the local theatre circle, and Lucy is her overweight best friend, with serious acting chops and serious family pressure. The two of them are one other’s eternal support system-until the people around them start to question how healthy their relationship is. Inspired, they embark on a life-changing mission, to score the jobs and boyfriends they’re sure will show everyone what they’re made of. However, the limits of their unique friendship are tested, and they risk losing one another. This is a bright, sassy feel good film, and sure to become a sleepover classic for the middle school set.
