Who run the world? Girls!

Launched in 2017, Run the World Fashion Show and Night Market prides itself on being a women-empowerment event that emphasizes the importance of supporting local female businesses and is inclusive of trans, disabled, native, coloured, and marginalized identities.

This year’s fashion show is hosted by Fashion Forward, a Toronto-based branding platform that aims to provide exposure to upscale collections from emerging designers, and was constructed around the idea that all women are equally beautiful, confident, and powerful regardless of their size or shape. (Read our interview with Run the World founder, Zaina Moussa). The night market will feature over 60 local female-owned vendors selling jewelry, clothing, skincare, beauty, art, home decor, services, and more.

Run the World will be held this Sunday, April 28, from 5 to 10 p.m. at The Atrium inside Ricarda’s (134 Peter St.). Tickets are $15, with part of the proceeds from the event being donated to a centre for women and girls who have been diagnosed with Autism in recognition of Autism Awareness Month.
