South of Chinatown, there is a dark alley where celebrities slide into a library-esque lounge for late night suppers and Grey Goose cocktails. Soho House, or the sophisticated social club based in London and NYC, once again has partnered with the premium vodka company to create an intimate hideaway for the Hollywood elite, elegantly removed from the brash noise of TIFF. On Saturday night, a party for the film “Biutiful,” starring Javier Bardem, had quite the beautiful attendees, including stunners Marion Cottilard and Blake Lively. Bardem hung out with Josh Brolin, in town for Woody Allen’s “You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger.” The two forged a friendship co-starring in the Coen Brothers’ “No Country for Old Men”, which won Bardem an Oscar. We are still haunted by the deep voiced psychopath Anton but that doesn’t hinder our overpowering infatuation with Bardem’s sexy good looks. Other guests who have swung by for a Grey Goose libation include: Colin Firth, Gemma Arterton, Josh Hartnett, Woody Harrelson, Kelly Lynch and heavyweight Harvey Weinstein. Unlike most TIFF venues that ram the guest list like a barbaric Noah’s Arc, Soho House keeps it chill, which is why this off-the-radar secret lounge is a favourite go-to and feels like the most swanky speak-easy you ever did see.
