Open Roof Festival, Harbourfront’s Free Flicks and TIFF in the Park are very different, but equally awesome, outdoor film series that make summer in the city, well, better. Sometimes we like watching movies with a cold beer in hand, and other times we like to pretend we are six and pair Mary Poppins with a vanilla swirl soft cone. This calendar allows us to do both! YOU TOO!
Starting June 16, Open Roof Festival will screen films weekly at The Amsterdam Brewery. Beer, bands and indie films, this series is definitely a scene, a really good one. Don’t be surprised if you start the night here and finish it off at Camp 4. Great films, cute boys and cool drinks.
Partnering with Toronto’s Entertainment District, TIFF in the Park is a family friendly FREE screening series that runs from July 6 through to Aug 31. Each week, happy civilians will gather in David Pecaut Square, beside Roy Thomson Hall, for movie magic that begins at dusk. Bring a blankie and your best friend.
Tuesday evenings, settle under the stars to catch great films on the WestJet Stage at Harbourfront Centre. This year, they’re showcasing six films over six weeks that explore different cities through the eyes of the filmmaker, the characters and the audience. Films start at dusk.
