10 pm Wax Candy Disco @ The Piston, 937 Bloor St. W. DJ Efsharp and Cyclist serve up platters of the sweetest soulful, refreshing, and uplifting disco in one of the best sounding rooms in the city. $10.

10:30 pm 2010s Decade Wrap Up Dance Party @ Buddies In Bad Times Theatre, 12 Alexander St. Pay tribute to the past decade with a dance party featuring all the 2010s hits played by DJ Johnny B Goode! A time capsule will be made throughout the night, so bring some 2010s goodies to help future generations understand us. With special performance by Bon Bon Bontemps. $5 before 11:30 pm, $10 after.

10:30 pm Beam Me Up Disco @ The Baby G, Dundas St. W. The Patchouli Brothers play a disco mix of gospel, funk, soul, boogie, rare groove, house, and jazz sounds surrounded by smiling faces.

11 pm Kuruza @ The Drake Underground, 1150 Queen St. W. Kuruza is more than a party; it’s an experience, a vibe, the urge to do whatever that makes your soul happy. Afro-inspired sounds selected by Kuruza’s collective of DJs + special guest Messkina from Montreal. $10.

8 pm DJ Skate Nights: Automaticamore & Roberto S @ The Natrel Rink (Harbourfront Centre), 235 Queens Quay W. Sharpen your skates and skills as Toronto’s number one outdoor winter party returns with another stellar lineup of DJs that will bring the heat to your Saturday nights. This week, Toronto-based DJ Automaticamore, a.k.a. Diana McNally, starts the new year with her speciality of European synthpop and Italo disco oddities. 9:30 pm Leftfield Presents: urbansteve & Roland Gonzales @ Tennessee Tavern, 1554 Queen St. W. Leftfield cordially invites to break all your New Year’s resolutions and kick off the first weekend of 2020 inside Tennessee Tavern for a night of eclectic sounds brought to you by residents urbansteve and Roland Gonzales. 10 pm Queer Slowdance: 2020 Hearts Aplenty Edition @ Dovercourt House, 805 Dovercourt Rd. With a lending library of designated dancers for all the wallflowers, and a dance card-booklet to set up dances in advance (should you choose to), Toronto Queer Slowdance has all slow songs, all night long! (Except for the occasional intermission when they play the fastest songs they can find.) Come and experience why slow is beautiful, and why love is not ironic. Fabulous and inspired attire, while desired, is not required, but you’re urged to dress up as if it were actually New Year’s Eve, even though it is totally not. $10.
