The TTC seems to be in the business of making enemies as of late. First came the announcement of yet another fare increase, going up to $3 from $2.75 and monthly passes to $126 from $109. This week, they issued another blow to the pockets of riders by limiting the sale of tokens to 5 per person and automatic token dispensers will be programmed to deliver only one token. It’s times like these that have people itching for a good ol’ fashioned revolt, so behold the TTC Rider Strike.

This Friday, Nov. 13, people are being urged to “for one day, find a better way” and ditch the subways, streetcars, and buses in favour of bikes, carpools, and feet to show their un-support for bearing the burden of the TTC’s costs. Riders are also being encouraged to lobby for more funding from the government so they aren’t continually asked to cough up money for often unreliable service.
