Toronto-based jewelry line, The Girl Of The Golden West, is a nostalgic collection of one-of-a-kind, handmade pieces, inspired by vintage style and the glamour of Old Hollywood. The creator of the line, Bonnie Wilson, who began making the pieces in 2007, takes vintage charms, heirloom jewels and semi-precious stones and reworks them into the most beautiful, whimsical originals. Bonnie has a background in theatre and dance and a serious love and impressive knowledge of ’40s, ’50s and ’60s Hollywood films, so each piece is named after a different classic from the Golden Age of Hollywood (the line takes its name from the 1938 MGM musical-western, The Girl Of The Golden West, starring Jeannette MacDonald, Nelson Eddy and Walter Pidgeon).

Bonnie finds the odds and ends that make up her gorgeous pieces at flea markets, estate sales, antique stores, garage sales; anywhere she spots something cute that she can turn into a work of art for your neck. Her grandmother’s friends give her their old broken vintage jewelry and family members will occasionally pass along materials to her when they see something they think she’ll like. The results are lovely romantic necklaces, each absolutely one-of-a-kind. No, seriously, there is only one of each piece right now, so totes not kidding, snatch ’em up!
