HEARTS SWELL! The perfect evening is going down this Thursday at Open Roof Fest, and we can’t wait. Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom is screening under the stars, accompanied by music from Dusted (made up of Holy Fuck and Final Fantasy alums) and sandwiches from Sky Blue Sky. It’s a dream picnic.
Moonrise Kingdom weaves first love, thunderstorms and Scout camp into a tapestry of summer nostalgia, the perfect film for mid-August, when every warm night seems precious. Pre-sale tickets are sold out, but $15 tickets are always available at the door. The night begins at 7:30 pm, the band plays at 8, and the movie screens at 9 pm. Open Roof Fest happens at the Amsterdam Brewery, 21 Bathurst St.
