Over the next few months, hear the orchestra’s take on R&B and soul, film-inspired programs, or enriching performances for children.
With so many women at the forefront of the TSO’s 2025/26 season, we wanted to highlight some upcoming concerts with talented female musicians, conductors, and composers in the spotlight.

She Holds Up The Stars
Bring your young one along for the world premiere of this deeply moving performance. Blending a contemporary Indigenous story, theatre, life-sized puppets, and Eliot Britton’s live orchestral score, this production from Red Sky Performance is inspired by Sandra Laronde’s award-winning novel She Holds Up The Stars. Immerse yourself in the story of a young Indigenous girl searching for her mother’s truth, and finding courage and resilience through an unexpected bond with a spirited horse. More info.

She’s Got Soul
Celebrate powerhouse women in R&B and soul with the sensational Capathia Jenkins! This electrifying concert honours iconic hits in these genres, with favourites from the likes of Gladys Knight, Chaka Khan, Toni Braxton, and Adele. Capathia’s powerful vocals and an entertaining trio of supporting vocalists will bring new energy to classic tunes from the divas of R&B and soul. More info.

Spring Journeys
Mark the arrival of a new season with this joyous, energetic celebration of springtime, led by Conductor Stephanie Childress. The concert will feature three works, each showcasing the spirit and vitality of spring: starting with Britten’s playful Simple Symphony, Vaughan Williams’ rousing Songs of Travel, and concluding with Schumann’s “Spring” Symphony, an uplifting celebration of renewal, rebirth, and reawakening. Shankar’s Sitar
Witness a lifetime of artistry unfold on stage at this TSO debut from trailblazing sitarist Anoushka Shankar, fresh off her appearance on SNL in support of the new Gorrillaz album. Anoushka carries on the legacy of her father, Ravi Shankar, with a performance of his captivating Sitar Concerto No. 2, as well as a selection from Passages, her father’s groundbreaking collaboration with Philip Glass. Experience the magic of Eastern and Western traditions uniting through Anoushka’s seamless blend of the sitar into the symphonic world. More info.

María Dueñas plays Korngold
This one is for the film lovers! Opening with Herrmann’s Suite from the film Psycho, internationally-renowned virtuoso violinist María Dueñas will channel the lush atmosphere of 1930s Hollywood for her electrifying performance of Korngold’s Violin Concerto. Rounding out this cinematically-inspired program are an ethereal new work from composer Bekah Simms, and Mendelssohn’s vibrant Italian Symphony. More info.
