Outfitted like an old west saloon (a really cool one, where the animal heads are wood sculptures), Burger Bar mixes delicious burgers, gourmet toppings, and some seriously amazing vegetarian options. What makes Burger Bar really special are the off the wall offerings like Saag Poutine($9)-flavourful spinach gravy with indian paneer cheese smothered over slim frites. Genius. Other unexpected delights include Cheeseburger Springrolls ($5), and a crostini with house-made ricotta, basil olive oil, grape tomatoes, and black pepper-to which you can add charcuterie of bresaola and Niagara prosciutto. Burger Bar serves only naturally-raised meat, and for beef connoisseurs, they have a myriad of options: certified organic, Canadian-raised Wagyu (Kobe) beef, and a 21-day aged rib eye. The burgers come with a plethora of tasty toppings, like smoked provolone, dijonaisse, truffle aoili and uni butter. The waitress assured us you can substitute a veggie patty in any order, and they also offer wild salmon with tomatillo and avocado salsa, marinated portobello mushrooms, and free range chicken. They also serving up brunch on the weekends. Family-friendly Babes n’ Brunch happens from 11-1, which features lots of stroller parking and a promise to accommodate even the fussiest of bebes. After 1, drag your hangover in the door to indulge in baked brioche, eggs beni, and brunch cocktails.
