Min Sook Lee’s latest film is her most personal to Min Sook Lee’s latest film is her most personal to date, but ‘There Are No Words’, screening on November 13 at @reelasian, is still deeply rooted in her background in political organizing. 

Lee dives deep into generational trauma in her new documentary, as she searches for memories of her mother, who died by suicide when Lee was 12. 

In her family, domestic abuse, violence, and suicide were never talked about. For Lee, making this film was “an intentional breaking of silences”—something she hopes will resonate with diasporic communities who view her film.
