In addition to being a giant sentient moth from the Godzilla franchise, MOTHRA is a wickedly smart program for artist-parents to make art without having to worry about childcare arrangements. It’s a multi-generational co-working opportunity, proving that one can still be an artist AND a parent.

They’re now accepting applications for their summer residency program at Artscape Gibraltar Point (443 Lakeshore Ave) from June 25 to July 2. Artists who are currently primary caregivers to babies or preschool-aged children will be able to live and work alongside their child for the duration of the week. Consider this a time for production but also for research and retreat. Residency is open to artists working in all disciplines.
