Honey Jam, the artist showcase where Nelly Furtado and Jully Black, among others, got their start, is back for its 17th year. The longest running all-female multi-genre talent showcase in Canada, Honey Jam gives selected artists the opportunity to perform for music industry professionals at a showcase on August 16th.

Honey Jam is put on every year by PhemPhat, a non-profit organization, and artists selected from the showcase will receive vocal and performance coaching from Elaine Overholt of Big Voice Studios, and the opportunity to attend an artist workshop at the Harris Institute. And one artist will be selected to perform in Barbados, care of the Barbados Tourism Authority. Um, heaven.

If you’re passionate about a career in music, this could be a fantastic opportunity. Live auditions will take place at the Mod Club, 722 College St, on June 3rd at 2 pm. If you aren’t in Toronto, you can submit an online audition by May 28th on the Honey Jam website. All artists will audition with one knock-out minute of performance, and are to perform the same song at the showcase if they’re selected. So, what are you waiting for?
