I’m not going to bore you with statistics on Vancouver demographics, but I’m going to tell you that it is definitely awesome to live in a vibrant city with an Asian cultural slant. Why so awesome? The food of course! The Taiwanese import, bubble tea, isn’t new which means that you can select from the dozens of places that offer it in the city. I give you the best places to get your bubble tea on, even into the wee hours of the morning.

Bubble World
If going to the night club isn’t your thing and you’re an insomniac looking for some company, take your friends to Bubble World where you can converse and actually hear each other. They say nothing good happens after 2AM, and true story, might have gotten my heart broken at a Bubble World. The taro bubble tea helped. Various locations in the Greater Vancouver Area

Estea Beverage Club
This mainstay on Kingsway is a regular joint for my friends. The service is sort of laughable, but honestly, so very worth it, their green tea slush is the bee’s knees. Just remember that when it takes them 45 minutes to crush some ice. And their selection of food is pretty appetizing, I recommend their deep fried chicken! Estea, #120 6401 Kingsway, Burnaby

Zephyr Tea House Cafe
You know that scene in Means Girls where Lizzy Caplan’s character Janis Ian goes through the map of the cafeteria and makes a stop at the “Cool Asians”? Going to Zephyr it kinda feels like that with pop hits blasting from the speakers with a large screen streaming the videos. Great for bubble tea ambiance.
Zephyr, 7911 Alderbridge Way, Richmond

Pho Chung Nam
I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again: this place has the best bubble tea. I went there recently to order a mango bubble tea and they regretted to tell me that they were all out of mangoes. So nice of them to actually make it with fresh ingredients versus that powdered stuff that often goes into these drinks. Support local small businesses! Pho Chung Nam, 522 6th Avenue, New Westminster

Even if you didn’t want to go here for the good food or the bubble tea, please for the love of all things hilarious, please go for the name of the place!
