Yet another lesser-known-though-ardently-deserves-to-be-well-known Canadian music duo is descending on Montreal at the end of this month: Data Romance. A few weeks ago, we were introduced me to the tunes of Ajay Bhattacharyya and Amy Kirkpatrick, a Victoria-born, Vancouver-based electro-indie duo that has only been performing as such since 2009. Their beats can probably be categorized as mellow-dance – think Lykke Li meets The XX. The latest Data Romance EP dropped this past May, featuring the song The Deep – for which they produced a very cool music video. We also suggest you check out the song ‘Bullets’ and their newest single ‘Spark’, for a better idea of what they’re about. Listen to their EP and a cool Data Romance mixtape (including their jaw-dropping rendition of Little Drummer Boy – so good!) here.

You can download Spark (for free!) on the Data Romance website.

Of course, if you decide that you enjoy Data Romance as much as we do, they will be performing at Montreal’s Société des arts technologiques (1201 St-Laurent) on Wednesday, November 30, opening for the German electro house duo Digitalism. Tickets are $22 in advance, $25 at the door, and can be purchased here.
